Dreaded skin problems: Adult acne

In the last year I have suffered from a mild case of adult acne. I have just found out that I am having some fertility problems which I suppose have been happening for a while and I think that my skin is definitely reacting to the hormones or maybe lack of them in my case :0(. During that horrible time of the month I would get these very painful cystic spots on my jaw line. It was so irritating because if I touched them they would get very painful, red and swollen but if I left them alone they would stay there on my face for ages and never go away. As time went on I learned when I could squeeze them and when to leave them alone. This is not how I wanted to look after my skin so a friend recommended I get the acne products from a French brand called La Roche-Posay.

These are the product that I got.Sorry I did them in the wrong order in the photo but the large bottle on the right is a purifying foaming cleanings gel. I use this both morning and night. Also a good tip is to use a totally separate towel for wiping your face afterwards. I have to admit I always used the normal hand towel in the bathroom but I was told that this was really not good for my skin. The second white bottle is a cleanser and I use this every evening after the cleaning gel especially when I am wearing makeup. The last blue bottle is a toner. In the morning time I do use my old moisturiser but in the evening I use this little tube of magic.2016-11-28-18-47-02

This is the magic potion that zapps those big annoying cystic spots. It is an anti-blemish cream which you can use both day and night. The first week of using this I felt my skin was tender and it stung a small bit. It was all bearable it wasn’t like I was screaming in pain but I decided to only use it once a day every evening after I cleanse. I use it on my nose, cheeks, chin and jaw area. I only put it where I get spots as it makes your skin feel dry. It is a very slight feeling and your skin doesn’t look dry but feels it a small bit. I started it as soon as I got the products in the post, which just happened to be the second day of my period. I already had some cystic spots at that stage and I found after a week it calmed them down and any new ones I got were much calmer and no where near as noticeable and painful. I have been using this a month now and overall I notice a big change already. I cant say that I have got less spots but they are definitely calmer spots (hmm calmer spots ?? I mean not so red and sore) and go away much quicker than normal. There is no quick fix to your skin problems and this product can take up to 5 months to really work and see a difference but I am very impressed with the results already. I will update you again in a couple of months time to let you know how I am getting on.

3 month update : I am seeing great results with this. I am now only using the cream 2-3 evenings a week and my skin had really improved. I barely get any spots and none of them are the painful cystic ones I used to get. I must admit I do not use the toner so much as I found it stung especially around my eyes. I am delighted with the results ;o)
